Until yesterday, the kids would never have understood that adage. They had bikes with training wheels when they were younger, and when we didn’t live in the place we are in now, but when we moved the bikes ended up in the backyard growing rust and disinterest.
Fast forward to the pandemic, where biking suddenly became the latest craze after Dalgona, baking, plants, sushi bake, and dogs. So when the opportunity came to get a new bike (thanks Carlo and Lil!), we got one. And the lessons for the 11 and 9 year olds started yesterday.
They learned in under an hour! We shall try again later, and see if it was a fluke. Bring the 13 year old, and keep teaching the 7 year old. For the 5, scooter for now.
