One Month with The New Bandidos!

The New Bandidos on DZRJ 810am celebrated one month on air last October 21. I cannot believe it has been more than a month now of broadcasting on air! What a whirlwind, and what a dream. We gained two more co-hosts along the way: Teny Mardo and Nicole Jacinto. So now we do not need to be on board everyday. We can sleep in sometimes. I get Monday to Wednesday. Teny has Tuesday and Wednesday. Nicole has Thursday and Friday. Pia has Monday, Thursday and Friday. Can’t wait for the other two co-hosts to come on board soon (I am optimistic).

RJ 100.3 FM also gets to listen in to The New Bandidos around 7:30am when we simulcast with them to relay the news from the Philippine Star. From the AM to the FM dimension.

We have regular student co-hosts too from PUP, whom I really honor for going to the station early before going to class – Albert, Zion, Matthew, and the rest of the gang. Yesterday we had students from St. Paul University QC. Hopefully, more broadcast and communication school will come on board.

We have been interviewing a lot of people like I mentioned from the last post. Added to those, we have had Senatoriables Roman Romulo, Lorna Kapunan, Neri Colmenares, Francis Tolentino (maybe I should vote those who guest or call into the show only). Also Lifebit (the new, Filipino Facebook) creator Eric Su with Homer Nievera. Vergel Santos of Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility. DepEd Asec. Jesus Mateo.

We have had the Tax Whiz himself Mon Abrea on the show (parts 1 and 2) with Senator Bam Aquino (3 and 4) talk about finances, entrepreneurship and youth empowerment. And recently, Presidential and Vice Presidential aspirants AlDav: Lito David and Albert Alba of Kapatiran / Koalisyon Katoliko Kristyano.

And also Grant “Cocoi” Javier of Unilab Foundation’s Project Inclusion which aims to provide awareness and employment for people with intellectual disabilities (seen with my kids on stem break, amazed how they woke up so early to be on the show too).

It has been an amazing ride, and we have just begun. As election fever really heats up, we look to bring more relevant topics, more information and more opinions from the youth. The youth are not the future, they are the now. They are getting involved.
