The Answer to the Not Unconstitutional RH Law. Day 30 of #40DaysinChristianLife

Vacation is over. The timing could not have been better. We got the Supreme Court decision regarding the RH Law while waiting for our plane in Busuanga. Like we were being told that we had rested enough and it was time to work even harder. The past days have shown me why I work so hard for the causes of family and life. Let me show you FAMILY:

The SC has upheld the RH Law as constitutional,  which I had expected though I hoped wouldn’t happen. The SC is smart that way. They kept both sides relatively happy by slicing straight down the middle.

Majority of the provisions that we were against were struck down by the SC and deemed unconstitutional.  Mostly about forcing private institutions to do things they may or may not want to. Also, lessening consent and responsibility for major life decisions for minors and spouses was also deemed unconstitutional. The news articles are all over the internet. I think majority of thinking and mature Pinoys will agree with the striking of those provisions.

What happens with the provisions not struck down? Better than starting an argument with the hordes of rabid supporters out there who think any idea that opposes their own is wrong and ignorant, I have 2 solutions:

1. The Live Pure Movement.

The best solution to sex education is being more responsible. That isn’t teaching them about contraceptives. It is teaching them about chastity,  valuing oneself and waiting for the right and perfect time in marriage. Live Pure has been going around the Philippines (and even other countries) and has touched the lives – and loves – of tens of thousands of young people. When these youth realize they are treasures worth waiting and fighting for, they decide for themselves that waiting is the best decision.

2. The Live Christ, Share Christ Movement

If you can’t stop government from training people about contraceptives and abortion, you can reboost the morals and values of Christians to know what is really right and wrong. Not only knowing,  but standing up for what is truly good. LCSC is bringing this all over the Philippines through a Life in Christ Seminar which has touched the hearts of people of all ages, all walks of life, from all over the country. When we focus of the Way, the Truth and the Life, then there is a better future ahead for our country and our people.

So do not despair. Do not be afraid. We are ready to bring back Christ and everything we have seemingly forgotten about Him to the Philippines. Come and listen.

  1. good article, written with Christian optimism. The SC’s decision merely shifted the battle from one front to another. Now the battle is for our children’s minds. You can bet they will pour their resources to fund mass indoctrination for sex-ed.
