My Triglyceride Life Update

After a month from the time I got my check up, I think I am doing better.

I have been eating oatmeal almost everyday for breakfast. And I loathe oatmeal. I STILL do. I think this is a testament to how much I want to be healthy. My breakfast is usually a bowl of oatmeal with pineapple juice as a drink. I cheat a bit and put a cap-full of Hazelnut syrup in my oatmeal. Please give me some leeway.

I have quit soda. I do not buy fast food intentionally. Unless that’s where we eat, and if that happens, I stay away from processed meat and french fries. I have cut down on rice as well. Sometimes cutting it out completely.

Most of all, I have started exercising. Not the gym. I walk around our “village”. I go up and down the steep mountain roads. And that brings out all the sweat and pain. It is difficult, and I mostly have to convince myself to get out and do it, but it is working.

And as of my last weigh-in, I have lost 13 pounds. Not Biggest Loser, but for me, that’s a feat! Continue to pray for me as I keep doing this. I tell myself I have been eating whatever I wanted for the last 38 years, and I can spend the next 38 eating the healthy stuff. 🙂 Here’s to making it happen. Pray for me!
