>Valentine’s date 2010: Fire Lake Grill in Tagaytay

>I am not one for planning big dates on Valentine’s Day. I think last year we just ate in Shangri-La Mall with Sabine. In Cyma. But this year, I decided to do something different. You always have to make sure the romance is alive. ๐Ÿ™‚

I brought her to Fire Lake Grill in Tagaytay. We were already there for the weekend with her family. And all her titas and cousins came over on that Saturday (the 13th). I was supposed to surprise her, but with all those people in the house, I had to tell her so she could tell them we were going to leave. Of course, lola said that we shouldn’t leave since marami naman pagkain sa bahay. I love lola!

We ate in Fire Lake Grill once before with my parents. And I loved the steak, so it was a good time to come back, just the two of us, no kids.

Just like when we were dating.

I got the Valentine menu, and Des ordered off the menu. I also got the wine offer – red and white! Yum! Here is the food we ate:

Blackened Beef Salad. The beef tasted great! Nothing like eating meat with salad!
The Scallop and Shitake Mushroom Appetizer. I, surprisingly, liked this a lot. The mushrooms went well with the scallops. I just wish it were bigger.
Tomato Soup. This was actually Des’ order, but I traded my soup with hers. I am not really for mussels. This tasted like a rich… tomato.
The mussel and chorizo soup. I didn’t even try it.
Ooooh the rib eye. Just looking at it makes me hungry again. There’s a reason why the earlier courses were smaller – to make room for this. It was sooooo good. Juicy, tender and delicious!
The flourless Chocolate Cake with Caramel Ice Cream. I thought I was full, but after tasting it, I had to eat! It was a nice cap to a great dinner.

And there was too much Valentine loving, as Des got sick the day after. Haha. Tonight, we push through with the original birthday date plan. Wish me luck!

Oh here’s my Valentine gift to her ๐Ÿ™‚
